MINOR
The English minor is designed to provide a good view of the whole field of English and American Literature, an opportunity for the exercise of disciplined literary analysis, and a varied experience of the best literature in English. At both levels, the student is free to choose areas of particular interest, and yet is guaranteed something of an overview.
- Lower-division requirements: 12 units
- One course to be chosen from among English 23A-23B-23C, 31, or 32
- Two courses to be chosen from among English 12A-12B-12C, 12E-Z, 14, 15, or 17.
- Upper-division requirements: 16 units
Four courses of upper division English. Only four (4) units from English 103 or English 190 will be accepted toward the fulfillment of this requirement. Proposals for English 190 must be approved by a sponsoring faculty member and the Department Chair. If the student wishes to offer units from English 190 as part of the 16 units, a copy of the approved petition will be placed in the file.
